1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and the operator of SmartGoalie (“we”, “our”, “us”) and govern your use of the SmartGoalie mobile and web applications and any related services (together, the “Service”). By downloading, installing, signing in to, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The service

SmartGoalie is a tool for recording and analyzing ice-hockey goalie performance, including shot locations, saves, goals against, zone statistics, and multi-goalie rosters. The Service is provided “as is” and is intended for informational and training use only.

The Service is not a coaching, officiating, medical, or diagnostic tool, and nothing in the Service constitutes professional advice.

3. Your account

You may use the Service as a guest (data stored only on your device) or by creating an account using an email address and password, or by signing in through a third-party provider such as Google.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate information and promptly update it if it changes.
You must be at least the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction (13 in the United States, 16 in much of the EU) to create an account. Parents or guardians may create an account to record data about a minor they supervise.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of all goalie rosters, game records, shot locations, notes, and other data you enter into the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service on your behalf.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to record and store any information about other individuals (including minors) and that such recording complies with applicable law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise derive the source code of the Service, except as permitted by law.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers or networks that host it.
Upload or transmit any content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy, or contains malware.
Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person.

6. Subscriptions & fees

The core Service is provided free of charge. We may in the future offer optional paid features (e.g., cloud sync, family sharing, advanced analytics). Any such features, their pricing, and their billing terms will be disclosed in the app at the point of purchase. Purchases are processed by the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) and are subject to that store's terms.

7. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT THE DATA YOU RECORD WILL BE RETAINED WITHOUT LOSS.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD 20.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon deletion of your account, your associated data is removed from our systems, subject to limited retention for legal or operational reasons.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tokyo, Japan, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
