This Privacy Policy describes how SmartGoalie (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile and web applications (the “Service”). We designed SmartGoalie to keep personal data to an absolute minimum: most of your game data stays on your own device, and we do not sell personal data to anyone, ever.
If you sign up with email and password, we store your email address and an optional display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo URL from Google. Passwords for email accounts are never stored by us; they are handled by our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication).
When you use the Service you enter information such as goalie rosters, game opponents, dates, shot locations, saves and goals, pass sequences, zone attribution, and free-text notes. This data is stored locally on your device by default. If you opt in to cloud sync in the future, it will also be stored in our cloud database so it can be restored on another device.
To keep the Service running we may automatically record limited technical data such as crash reports and diagnostic logs. These do not include the content of your games. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics.
We use the data we collect only to:
We share data only with the vendors that help us operate the Service:
We do not share data with any other third party except when required by law, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of SmartGoalie or its users.
Game data you enter is retained for as long as your account is active or the data is stored on your device. You can delete individual seasons, games, shots, or goalies at any time from within the app.
You can delete your account from the Settings screen. When you delete your account:
We may retain minimal records for legal, fraud-prevention, or security reasons for a limited period.
We use industry-standard measures to protect data, including HTTPS transport encryption, managed authentication via Google Firebase, and access controls on our operational systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
SmartGoalie is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. Parents or guardians may use the Service to record game statistics about a minor they supervise. In that case the parent or guardian is the account holder and is responsible for any personal data they enter about the minor. If you believe a child under the minimum age has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these rights directly in the app (for example, editing your display name, deleting seasons and games, or deleting your entire account). For any other request, email us at smartgoalie1@gmail.com.
Our authentication and cloud-storage providers operate data centers in multiple countries. Your data may be processed in locations outside your country of residence, including the United States. Where required, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app before the changes take effect.
